Portrait Fees and Process

Photo Reference

It begins with the perfect photo reference. Scheduling a time and place for a photo shoot, at the convenience of the client, either at the clients home or a location to be determined. (I also work from provided photo's if a personal sitting is not possible, or perhaps an older photo from a child's youth) With the clients input, we will choose the final reference photograph.

Archival Materials

My pastel portraits are created on Canson Mi Tiennes archival paper, imported from Paris, France, using the highest quality professional artist pastels. Oils are painted on high quality linen canvas or oil primed panels. This will ensure the longevity of the portrait so that it can be handed down from generation to generation.

Fees*

Pastel portraits begin at:

• $3000  for a pastel head and shoulder. 

   Final size 12 x 16" or 16 x 20"

• $3500 for an oil head and shoulder. 

   Final size 12 x 16" or 16 x 20".

Quotes available for larger portraits or complex backgrounds. A 20% discount is available for each additional child if done at the same time. (excluding discount on head and shoulder portraits)

There is no fee for consultation or photo shoot. A 50% deposit is required at the time of the final photo selection, locking in the price and order in which the portrait is painted. The final balance is due on completion of the portrait once the client is completely happy with the piece. I always guarantee my work!

Further costs may include, travel (if out of town), sales tax, framing and shipping.
